WGS College Scholarship
The Westminster Girls Softball (WGS) College Scholarship was created to recognize and support student-athletes who have demonstrated dedication, leadership, and commitment both on and off the field. Each year, WGS proudly awards a $1,000.00 scholarship to a deserving graduating senior who exemplifies the values of our league.
Softball teaches perseverance, teamwork, accountability, and resilience — qualities that extend far beyond the game. Through this scholarship, WGS is honored to invest in the continued success of our players as they pursue higher education.

Describe how participating in Westminster Girls Softball (WGS) has impacted your life, how the experience prepared for you college or post-secondary education, and the notable qualities or skill you developed during your time in the league.

Scholarship Award
Award Amount: $1,000
Number of Recipients: One (1) annually
Scholarship Type: One-time Award
Distribution: Payment method and distribution will be coordinated with the recipient and their high school or post-secondary institution, as applicable
Recipient Notification Date: On or before May 12, 2026
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a current of former Westminster Girls Softball player
- Have participated in WGS for a minimum of two (2) seasons
- Be a graduating high school senior in the year of application
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application
- Provide a high school transcript (copy accepted).
- Be continuing their education at:
- A 2- or 4-year college or university OR
- A trade school
- Submit a completed application and essay by the deadline
Application Requirements
To be considered, applicants must submit:
- Completed WGS Scholarship Application (link here)
- High school transcript (copy acceptable)
- Completed essay
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Selection Process
Scholarship recipients will be selected by the WGS Board of Directors based on factors including, but not limited to:
- Academic achievement
- Quality and thoughtfulness of essay
- Overall character and leadership
