WGS Softball Programs

Westminster Girls Softball offers two great ways for players to get involved in softball. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to compete at a higher level, we provide a welcoming, well-organized environment where they can grow as athletes and teammates.

Recreational Division

Grades: Kindergarten through High School

Spring Season: March to June

Fall Season: September to October (approx. 8 weeks) 

What to Expect

Our Rec Division has been at the heart of the community for over 50 years. It's open to players of all experience levels, and focuses on:

  • learning the fundamentals
  • building confidence
  • having fun in a supportive environment

Weekly practices and games are held at our 3 home fields at Jaycee Park, plus additional practice fields throughout Westminster.

Other WGS Program Options

Other skill-building opportunities we offer:

  • Fall Ball: 8-week mini season (fall)

  • Winter Workout Clinics: skill-building and conditioning

  • Pitching Clinics: technique training for developing pitchers

Travel Division

Ages: 10U through 18U
Play Includes: Central Maryland League, USSSA Tournaments, State and National-level events

Our Travel Teams are built for players ready to:

  • Push themselves competitively
  • Commit to a more advanced level of softball
  • Represent WGS in regional tournaments

Tryouts are scheduled individually. Players are also welcome to attend our indoor winter workouts to get a feel for the program.
